What is a Pre-Master's?

A pre-master’s program is tailored for international students aiming to  enhance their English proficiency and refine their research, academic  writing, and seminar skills before enrolling in a taught master’s  degree. Typically spanning from ten weeks to twelve months, these  programs are strategically designed to fully equip international  students for rigorous postgraduate studies in the UK, ensuring they  possess the necessary language abilities and academic acumen. By  completing a pre-master’s program and meeting the academic requirements,  students can seamlessly transition into their desired postgraduate  degree at the university of their choice. The Pre-Master’s may also be termed a “Graduate Diploma”, “Pre-MSc” or “Masters Qualifying Programme”(MQP).

Students can generally expect to pay anywhere between £7,000 – £15,000 for a Pre-Master’s in the UK.
